Terms of service

Last updated 23 October 2026.

1. Who these terms are with

These terms are between you (or the organisation you act for) and the individual who operates this site, based in Georgia ("we"). They cover the Tripcord program (the command-line tool, the GitHub Action wrapper, the git hook and the editor extension), this website and the licensing service. By downloading, activating or using the program you accept them.

2. The license

Subject to these terms and, for paid plans, payment of the fees, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to run the program for the internal security checking of repositories that you or your organisation are entitled to scan. The license is for the licensed organisation only and, on a paid plan, for no more developers than the plan allows (Solo: one; Team: up to ten; Business: up to fifty). We do not sell you the program or its source code; you rent a right to use it.

3. Free use

The Community plan lets one individual scan repositories by hand on their own machine, with the default rules and text output. It does not include use in continuous integration or other automation, JSON or SARIF output, pull-request diff, baselines, lock and verify, the git hook, the report command or experimental rules. Those need a paid license.

4. What you may not do

  • Copy, redistribute, sublicense, resell, rent out or host the program, or offer it as a service to others.
  • Share a license key outside the licensed organisation, or use one key for more developers than the plan allows.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or extract the rules or source code from the program, except to the extent the law of your country allows despite this restriction.
  • Remove, bypass or tamper with the license check, or use a license that has expired or been revoked.

5. Fees, renewal and cancellation

A license renews every month or year until you cancel. It stops working at the end of the paid period. You can cancel at any time and keep using it until then. Fees are shown on the pricing page in US dollars before you pay. Payment is handled on a hosted checkout page of a third-party payment provider, whose terms apply to the payment itself and which may act as the seller of record and charge taxes. We never see your card details.

If a payment fails or you cancel, the license stops at the end of the period already paid for, after a short grace period built into the program. See the refund policy.

6. Ending the license

The license ends when the paid period ends without renewal, when you cancel and the period runs out, or when we terminate it because you broke section 4. When it ends you must stop using the paid features. The free Community use stays available under section 3.

7. Updates and changes

While your license is active you may use the versions we release. We may change or remove features, rules and plans. We will not reduce what an active, paid period includes without telling you.

8. What the program does and does not do

Tripcord flags known risky patterns in the files that configure AI coding agents. It does not scan application source, dependencies or build scripts, does not monitor an agent while it runs, and a finding is a pattern match, not proof of intent. It can miss problems and can flag harmless things. It is a tool to support your own review, not a guarantee that a repository is safe.

9. No warranty and limit of liability

The program is provided "as is", without any warranty of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, loss of data, profit or business, or for any security incident, and our total liability for any claim relating to the program is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Your data

The program runs on your machine or your CI runner and does not send your files or findings to us. See the privacy policy for the little we do process.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Georgia. Disputes go to the competent courts of Georgia, except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to go to the courts of your own country.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Material changes apply to renewals after the change.
